BackgroundL'Abri-Tanique is situated in the historic town of Hesdin, an hour's drive from Calais and Boulogne. The sixteenth century Town Hall was built by the Hapsburg Emperor Charles V for his sister Marie of Hungary, when Hesdin was a fortified frontier town between Hapsburg Artois and France. More recently, it was used as the backdrop for the 1960s BBC Inspector Maigret series with Rupert Davies. Hesdin has plenty of excellent restaurants and reasonably priced small hotels and chambre d'hotes (bed and breakfast establishments) and thus makes an excellent base for your property search. Once you have found a property you wish to buy, we will carry you through all stages of the negotiations. We will advise you on appointing a notaire, arrange estimates for repairs and renovations, if necessary. We will also negotiate with EDF, the gas and electricity supply company and France Telecom as well as accompanying you to the signing of the Acte de Vente, which is the completion of the purchase. We will also translate as necessary. Afterwards we are able to carry out any building work you require after obtaining all the relevant permits. Our service does not stop when you are installed in your new home. We will organise surveillance and routine maintenance of your property in your absence and even arrange lettings if you want to earn from your investment. We are always on the spot to deal with any eventuality and to protect your investment. We live in France, we work with the French but we work for you.
